Social Democrat Initiative Chairman Fatmir Limaj has commented on the call Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti had with US State Department Senior Adviser Derek Chollet. Limaj, says that the very fact that this conversation has been discussed in the oath or failure to swear to the mayors in the north of the country shows alarm in what situation it has come to be, which, according to him, has been completely unnecessary.
The fact that a senior head of the State Department calls and sets out the subject of swearing or failing to swear to the mayors shows normal people alarm at what level we've gotten this job, which has been completely unnecessary. We could avoid these situations without bringing our partner friends into these situations to confront us, completely banal, unnecessary”, he said in Tv1.
Limaj, has said he doesn't know whether or not he swears tomorrow ( Friday) the newly elected mayors in the north, but he says the elections should be held again.
Now in those choices tomorrow, whether to swear or swear is the subject, for me, no elections have been held. I don't know if they swear tomorrow, I know they have to choose again. What we have done, we have deceived the people of Kosovo”, he said.
On the other hand, the chairman said that with holding elections, the Kosovo government has made fraud, spent money, and created bad image for Kosovo.
“What the Government of Kosovo has done with this, has made a fraud, made a cost of money, created a bad image for the country, our partners have been worried about an attempt, taken and turned into a completely insignificant agenda things have become the main agenda, as in the situations it could create conflicts or tensions”, Limaj added.
Tomorrow, the newly elected mayors in four Serb-run northern municipalities in northern Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, Zvecan, and Leposaviq would have to take the oath as chairman. Early local elections were held on April 23rd, where they were boycotted by the Serbian List as the largest Serb majority party. /tat1.info/
