Escobar anti-Escobar delegation, Kurt's Cabinet member falls short of the news about his “subservation”

It is now known that neither Emissar Gabriel Escobar has really played the Vetevendosje Movement, which in the first term in power came out of an open fight with Escbobar's predecessor, Richard Green. As is common, after a period of diplomatic disagreement has been erased, Kurti at the beginning of this year has shown resentment with the American diplomat, who deals with the Kosovo dialogue .

After the leadership's expressions of resentment, criticisms from the less-high LV officials have flooded over Escobar.

Avni Zogiani, an LV official who has moved to different positions and recently, has made Kurti the deputy minister, has last night distributed an incorrect news relating to the American emissary.

Without pointing to the source, Zogiani has distributed a covert of news that Biden names Escobar's replacement.

But the news Zogiani has spread is incorrect because President Biden has nominated another official for the state secretary's assistant position, not for Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, this position that Escobar holds.

James O'Brien, if the nomination is confirmed in the Senate, it will take over the empty position after Karen Donfreed left in March.

Vetevendosje reports with Escobar leaving

After the departure of Special American Emissary Richard Greenelli, personally involved in a war against Kurti Government and Prime Minister Kurti himself, the LV held hope that with the Biden Administration there would be a diplomat who would go well.

The task of the former contractor diplomat, which continues conflicts with Vetevendosje Movement at the end of 2021, was taken by Gabriel Escobar, who holds the post of deputy secretary, but is specifically committed to the Western Balkans.

Escobar's profile differs from that of Yerenelli, who was named direct by President Trump. So far, he has preserved diplomatic language, even when his demands did not meet with the positions of the Government of Kosovo.

Yet, the report with Escobar also had episodes, where parties publicly declared differences. They had appeared during the time when Prime Minister Kurti had decided to implement the decision to remove illegal license plates that Serbia issued to Kosovo Serb residents and had continued on to the issue of forming the Serb majority communities' association. Six months ago, Kurt flatly refused to establish association. LV officials were convinced it never does, because that's what the prime minister said. Escobar during a visit to Pristina in December, said eloquently that a single politician and a single party can leave the obligation to make association.

“It is a duty for Serbia, it is a duty for Kosovo, it is a duty for the EU that has helped negotiate it [the association]. And since we support dialogue, it's also our commitment. Now, a single politician in a single political party cannot step down from this task”, Escobar had declared.

On that same visit, Escobar had that association could also be done with “alternative partners”, and this sentence was also interpreted as a kind of threat to Kurti, who at the first time was considered to be brought down after failing to US demands, which were then given through Yerenelli.

During January, the American Embassy, with Escobar approval, started discussions at its headquarters for the establishment of Association, inviting acts that in one way or another estimated to be affected by association, but not also Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

Kurt was declared to be and public messages sent to Escobar.

“I have expected that he in Belgrade will declare that, regardless of Serbia's president, Serbia should recognise Kosovo rather than in Pristina to say, regardless of Kosovo's prime minister, the association must be”, Kurti said in January, prior to the meeting for Association at the Embassy.

Now, six months later, there have been many developments in Kosovo dialogue Serbia. Prime Minister Kurti has accepted the basic agreement on normalising reports with Serbia at the end of February. Meanwhile, it is also agreed on the Implementation Plan for that agreement. It includes the pledge to form the Association of Serb majority municipalities.

At the first meeting after reaching the agreement, as the internationals had insisted and Serbia, the draft of the State of Association has been presented.

Kurt has been praised by the highest American officials for these developments and has also been supported by Escobar. The American Emissar has seen as progress the fact that Kurti and his government now speak of forming Association, though it was a matter that was flatly rejected by him at the beginning of his mandate as prime minister and nearly a decade in opposition.
