Elena Kirtcheva, a member of the board and secretary general of the Vienna Economic Forum, said the main goal of the forum is the consolidation of the region, which, as she said, needs Europe but also needs it.
“We should look forward to having the region's consolidation priority. This is the main goal of an economic forum, to have consolidation because the region needs Europe, but let me say that Europe needs the region as well”, Kyrtcheva has expressed.
Even the chairman of the Vienna Economic Forum, Victor Jackovich, said Kosovo is an integral part of Europe, while considering there is even a living economy.
As for the challenges, Jackovic said Kosovo also has pressures from abroad, but believes it will overcome them.
“Today you have a living economy, a functioning state, a very talented population and a wise government. There are many challenges you face, and the pressures I would say from many different countries -- from Washington, Brussels, Belgrade -- from everywhere. Maybe this is the fate of a small country. Because you have a democracy and because you have the support of your people and a elected democratic government, you are able to cope with these challenges and overcome them and it is in this environment the Vienna Economic Forum will continue”, he said.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti, at this forum, said how the government has made investments in the area of the economy, and according to him, various international organisations have confirmed Kosovo's progress in the fields of democracy and rule of law.
The international body has confirmed our significant progress in the areas of democracy and rule of law. We have also strengthened our bridges with our Western Balkan neighbours. I think this effort is well represented, not by numbers, but by countless meetings. I've had the pleasure of being part of the country where we share the challenges of winnings and visions with each other, as I mentioned past achievements, I'm even more enthusiastic about the future we're looking at in the ambitious and green years before”.
He also cited the last agreement with the IMF, which will be used for renewable energy, EO writes.
The last arrangement with the IMF gives us 80m euros initial for building renewable energy and solar condensors with the possibility of another 80 million, and in our 2022-31 energy strategy, we forecast for less than 10 years than 1300 megabs produced by renewable energy. We are also creating the first sovereign wealth funds of our country”.
