I am happy that the Swedish presidency is in favour of integration of Balkan countries. I am happy for visa liberalisation for Kosovo. I don't want to take much credit because the highest credit was the Czech presidency, but I'm glad it happened during the Swedish presidency”, he said.
Chief Parliamentary Glauk Konjufca, in a statement to the media, said Kosovo has purpose and works to be part of the EU one day.
This day is indeed unique and with a significant symbol because the start of the European Union is celebrated. It's a family and a system of common values, which we share with those who aspire to share one day. Today is the day to recall all that story of creating that important project, which is not just political design, it's a multidimensional project, it's a project of values, culture, common interests, human rights, democracy”.
“Europe for us is security at the same time”, the chief speaker said.
Kosovo has always defined it to be part of the EU, but this requires conditions, requires reform, requires thousands of measures we have to take as a society, to be reformed, so that one day we can be part of this family of values”, he said.
EU Ambassador to Kosovo Szunyog has said that the EU is not only political and economic union, but it promotes peace, stability and prosperity. While stressing that the EU's focus has returned to the Western Balkans.
He said May 9th this year is celebrated in a poor situation that is being caused by the Russia-Ukrainian war. According to him, the EU has been quick in its response, even though there were economic problems, such as price hikes.
Our “Pokus has returned to the Western Balkans. In these challenging years, we successfully completed three Kosovo aid packages, which total the total 200m euros. I am also very proud of visa liberalisation, which is an achievement of Kosovo, but especially of citizens. I think we can also be proud of the process of dialogue and recent developments. I think even in these difficult times, The EU has been focused on the Western Balkans and Kosovo”. / EO
