After reviewing the application by the Committee of Ministers, the final word remains to the Parliamentary Assembly, which consists of representatives of member states. A new member's admission into the KiE takes place in the event the applied state secures 2/3 of the votes.
Even though it is not part of the Committee of Ministers, Ukrainian MP Olexiy Olexiyovich Goncharenko has said he will fully support Kosovo for membership in this international organisation.
“Today will be the first decision of the Committee of Ministers and we will see how this will go. I will support Kosovo's case in all possible possibilities with all my”.
“Today will be the meeting of the Committee of Ministers where I am not a member. I am a member of the Parliamentary Assembly. Today will be the Committee meeting, I hope the decision will be positive”.
