The court's ruling also rejected restrictions on the use of myphepristone [piluls taken at the beginning of pregnancy to cause abortion] that were imposed by a lower court, essentially maintaining the status quo.
The use of this pill had been contested after a judge in Texas had asked to reject the decision to use it.
The decision to use this pill comes after the Supreme Court has a conservative majority of 6 to 3 ) last year overturned the decision known as Roe Wwede, ending the nationwide guarantee of abortion and empowering states to halt the abortion procedure.
After the Supreme decision, the issue of the use of the Myferston pill returns to the Court of Appeals.
This case will likely be restored to the Supreme Court.
Mifpriston is part of a two - drug regimen used for more than half of abortions performed in the United States. This pill has been used by over 5 million U.S. women who have ended their pregnancies.
The pill was originally approved for use by the US Food Administration and Barna (FDA) over 20 years ago. This administration has placed the mifepristone in the category of 60 drugs that are regularly subject to additional restrictions and to perform regular estimates.
Some of the major health organizations, including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists and the World Health Organization, have said that abortion pills are safe and effective.
But earlier this month judge from Texas Matthew Kacsmaryk, decided to suspend the approval of the Food and Barna Administration for Mifepristone, saying this administration violated federal regulations allowing accelerated adoption of certain drugs and had a wrong scientific assessment of the drug.
The American president's administration, Joe Biden, appealed this decision and asked the court in Texas not to comply with the verdict until the decision of a higher court.
