Escobar has said this agreement precedes normalisation of relations between the two sides.
In the interview for Top Channel, Ecobar said Albania plays an important role in regional stability, so this, according to him, is one of the reasons for his visit to Tirana.
I have to say that in terms of the Kosovo-Serbia issue, what we have in this new normalisation agreement is a historic agreement for friendly, constructive relations between two partners who have not had much confidence. That agreement, which was made possible by the European Union, supported by the United States, was supported in almost every respect by countries in the region”, Escobar has declared.
Escobar has said the agreement reached in Ohrid would not have happened without the support of northern Macedonia.
He has also praised both the support of Albanian and Croatia governments.
“The negotiations took place in northern Macedonia and would not have happened without their support. But it was also supported by the governments of Albania and Croatia and others in the region. And we see a very important role for Albania in regional stability. And that's proved to be”, Escobar said.
