Serbia's Ambassador to the United States, Marko Djurovic, has indicated that in a conversation with senior US State Department Adviser Derek Chollet, has told him that the US intends to take concrete steps towards forming the Commission Association with the Serbian Majority.
So Djuric has said in an interview for the Euronews Serbia media.
He told me that America intends to take very serious steps towards forming association. They have led the process towards her, not at the pace, not near the dynamic we would like. I want to remember the fact that America is neither formally guarantor nor signatories of the Brussels Agreement, that the EU should have done 10 years ago”, he said.
Djuric also mentioned the US Special Envoy's statement to the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, who had said that “Association would be formed with or without Kurtin”.
The “will see how it will be realised, the Serbs' demands are very rational, so Kurti can withdraw illegal formations from the north and see concrete steps of forming the association”, he added.
“Both the US and the EU have mechanisms that I hope they will use to a much larger extent in the coming period to lure Kurt and the government there in a real course of normalisation of relations”, he added.
