This is the building in question.
The building is quite old, dating back to 1702, but the club cannot destroy it or even change its appearance markedly after it has been declared part of Catalonia's architectural heritage. The club bought it in 1950.
Instead, Barcelona plans to make some internal changes and transform it into a comprehensive high-tech museum dedicated to its largest player.
The museum will not only attract many fans and thus bring in revenue but also serve as a gesture of appreciation for Mess. Both aspects are especially important now when Barca is trying to bring Leon back to the club.
