The Facebook page, named “Serbian crimes -- Serbian Cremes” -- that distributes many photos from the time of war in Kosovo -- has recently distributed some interestingly, with the Albanian handover of arms to the Dukagjin region.
This page describes these photos:
September 11, 1998
The Serbian forces' offensive in the summer of 1998 in the Dukagjin region caused many fronts to be broken. This also affected the departure of a large number of KLA soldiers in the direction of Albania and Montenegro. Some of them later returned to the army.
The decline of KLA safeguards in Dukagjin prompted a large number of the population to gather in the village of Isniq of Decani and surrounding villages. These villages were considered safe and controlled by FARK soldiers (The Armed Forces of the Republic of Kosovo).
However, Serbian forces surrounded Isniqi and were given the ultimatum to FARK forces, who were formerly led by Colonel Tahir Zemaj, to hand over the weapons, on the contrary Isniqi would be transformed into enclaves.
This ultimatum was accepted and thousands of weapons surrendered there, while the population was allowed to leave in the direction of Albania and Montenegro. With them were thousands of soldiers who stripped off their uniform and handed over their weapons.
The Serbian forces' exclusive documents date 2909.1998. Handed weapons and the serial number handed over to Serbian forces in the Decani region, respectively, in the village of Isniq and surrounding villages.
“Today 29.09.1998 has been carried out as admission of these arms, ammunition and other explosive substances, found on the part of SPB workers and handed over on the part of the citizens of villages with Albanian affiliations living in the Decani Community”, the UN Internal Affairs Security Document in Gjakova, the Internal Affairs Unit in Decani, says in the file.
This file contains the number of weapons and their serial number delivered by FARK officers. According to this file, these weapons have been dropped and handed over: automatic Chinese production rifles, 7.62 mm calibre, with the following number, 735 (scrolled with the total number 735).
