This, Vuciqi said that “is not the final target” and that “does not matter” when the agreement will be reached.
These are four deals. We have already signed everything and, of course, was signed by representatives of the European Union and must be implemented. And that's not the ultimate goal. The ultimate goal is for Serbs and Albanians to live together, live much better and respect, without hostility. I don't plan to talk about nobody's fault, it doesn't matter whether it will be achieved in three months or three years, but if we succeed will be a historic success”, Vucic said in an interview for Euronews in the Serbian language.
He said Serbia is <x0Fift” to make efforts to find a compromise.
“Of course, both sides have their own red lines and cannot deny it, but we, I believe, should do much to normalise the situation between our nations, our peoples, and given this, I believe it is in the interest of both sides to ensure the free flow of goods, people and capital. We should work very diligently on this, as well as on implementing all previous agreements”, Vuciq said.
Asked whether Serbia is ready to make some concessions to the Kosovo side when it comes to membership in the Council of Europe, Vucic said the “ata has already started that procedure in the Council of Europe, without asking Serbia. and they don't need Serbia for this”.
However, he said there are regulations and plans proposed by the Germans and French regarding membership in international organisations, adding that he has responded to French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for this reason.
“They got my answer to that, I told (Emanuel) Macronit and (Olaf) Sbulzi directly what I think of Kosovo's admission to the United Nations and some other things. But we're willing to talk about other issues, we're always ready, and we also need to discuss some laws that need to be adopted, and I'm going to discuss this in Ohrid with my conversationators and some other people. But we are willing to discuss many issues and they know my red lines”, Vuciq said and repeated that. He doesn't want to talk about it publicly because he wants to leave too much room for possible compromise solutions.
Answering the question of whether it means there are openings, or whether the door is not closed for Serbia to say “po” for Kosovo's UN membership, Vuciq said: “in some organisations, yes. I'm not talking about the Council of Europe, they've already started this without us”.
