Von Croamon: The process of normalising relations must have full recognition of Kosovo by Serbia for epilogue

The European Parliament's rapporteur for Kosovo, Violet von Cremon, said it shares disappointments with the meeting in Ohrid, adding that it expects concrete deadlines for implementation of the agreement on normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia. She stressed that leaders rather than being willing to reach a compromise in favour of citizens decided to endanger the future, not only of Kosovo and Serbia, but of the entire region.
She said she had hoped for a deal with many concrete steps, instead of just articles and general paragraphs in agreement and annexes.
Von Croamon said everyone in Brussels is working hard for progress, and doing so they act fully with justice, not taking sides.
“We were hoping for a deal and entry into a new phase ahead of the upcoming elections”, Von Croamon added.
She praised that the process is still in the beginning and added that in the end the normalisation process should result in full recognition of Kosovo.
She also referred to Russia's role, claiming Moscow does not want the Kosovo issue resolved and is therefore lobbiing through Serbian media for the agreement not to be signed. Likewise, Von Croamon estimated that Serbia must face the past and expressed regret that, at the commemoration of NATO bombings, it was not mentioned why it happened.
She stressed that even though she claims she is not a lobbyist, she faces threats, which indicates propaganda has become even worse than she was.
