Pacolli for the deal in Ohrid: It's at the expense of Kosovo, we'll pay the cost later

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq agreed on March 18th to implement the agreement towards normalising their relations, supported by the EU. Even though the Serbian side refused to officially sign the agreement, the two sides agreed that its implementation should begin soon.

For the March 18th meeting and the achievement of the agreement between the two states, Front Online has spoken to former Foreign Affairs Minister Behgjet Pacolli.

Pacolli has all come up with this agreement, and is assessing it as an injury to Kosovo.

He says the cost of this deal, our country will pay.

“Kurti obeyed international pressure, why and how we should take videos of his attitudes on who he can be pressured to understand his political situation. But he has damaged the country with this deal, the cost of which we will later pay”, Pacolli said of Front Online.

Pacolli: Kosovo, Serbia sign agreement to create new disputes

Former minister Behgjet Pacolli said reaching the agreement in Ohrid is Kosovo's weakest point in dialogue.

In addition, Pacolli added that the annex provides for our country to implement association.

“Both Kosovo and Serbia reached an agreement to create new disputes. This is Kosovo's weakest point in the dialogue process, as there is no clear benefit for Kosovo and no concrete commitment for Serbia, but only for Kosovo the annex provides for a clear obligation to implement Article 7 and Article 10 (which are now together in annexes in a paragraph) for self-advancing in the framework of association beyond the 2013 and 2015”, Pacolli stressed.

Pacolli-Curt: You can't be Prime Minister and go against the country's allies

Former Foreign Affairs Minister Behgjet Pacolli has criticised Prime Minister Kurti for his stances against politics.

Pacolli told Front Online that Kurt's transformation against Association is manipulation.

“Kurti has changed his position to remain in power. He knows you cannot be Kosovo prime minister and go against the country's allies. The essence of his policy has been fraud and manipulation to come to power and its political transformation now towards Association, dialogue, but also towards special status for the Serbian Orthodox Church”, Pacolli told Front Online.

What has won from the deal reached in Ohrid, according to Pacolli, is Serbia.

The “is a victory for Serbia after it has managed to lift mutual recognition, lift the reference to UN membership, and the Association 2.0 will have executive power, and the Serbian Orthodox Church will formalise a status that goes beyond the Athisaari proposal, which envisions rights and privileges for the KOS, and not formalised status”, he told The Online Front.

Former minister Pacolli said Kosovo would not benefit anything from the agreement reached on March 18th.

“In the middle of the night, without the Democratic consent of the Parliament, Prime Minister Kurti has agreed to the decision with Serbian President Vuciq on an agreement that will strengthen Serbia's influence in Kosovo, but will not bring any benefit to Kosovo in understanding of finalising its citizenship and international integration”, Pacolli concluded.

Otherwise, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated, after the agreement, that public reconciliation has been reached with Serbia for an annex that will guide the implementation of the basic agreement. He said mutual recognition de-facto is in the basic agreement.

While the country's president, Vjosa Osmani, has said of the agreement reached that Kosovo testified to be the only side in the dialogue that proved constructive and interested in peace and stability.
