Lajcak: No deal if Pristina says sʹka Association, Belgrade does not have Kosovo membership in UN

The EU's special envoy for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, has said that association is part of the agreement and that it will take place. Lajcak has also said there would be no agreement at all if Kosovo did not agree to the establishment of association and at the same time Serbia refused [...]
“If Pristina says we don't want the Association, and Belgrade says it does not want Kosovo's admission to the UN, then, we would not have a” agreement, Lajcak explains in an interview for Serbian media.
The “has become a key issue and has become clear to all that if there is no Association, there is no agreement and there is no normalisation. The EU's special envoy for dialogue said”.
Commenting on Gabriel Escobar's statement, which said that if this government does not want to, we will seek new partners, Lajcak says they do not choose partners but seek partners to fulfill all obligations from previous talks.
“This job I have been doing for three years and three years I have heard in Serbia that I support Kosovo, and in Kosovo I support Serbia. This shows that I am neutral and my mission and personality is one that I want you to help and solve the problem, not to help someone against someone”, Lajcak said, answering the question of whether “the huge” brought the ultimatum to Belgrade.
It shows that the EU does not use the word ultimatum, but that alternatives have been discussed.
Lajcak comes from a country that has not recognised Kosovo's independence. By 2020, he has defended the position that Kosovo is an integral part of Serbia under international law. Asked whether Kosovo is independent of it, Lajcak answers that he has been dealing with this area for more than 20 years and sees how many people want to become part of the EU, but, as he says, he sees the past as well. Keeping Progress Toward the Future
I offer my experience to solve the problem, but not for someone to win and someone to lose, but to open the European door. This is the philosophy of my actions”, Lajcak said.
