The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, has warned all parties not to draw arbitrary conclusions on the case of the publication of the American newspaper New The York Times, under which American officials, after reviewing the information in their hands, report that a pro-Ukrainian organisation was responsible for attacks on the Nord Stream 1 and 2.
I'm not afraid of the truth. Any truth. But we are talking about speculation”, Borrell told reporters after meeting with the EU countries' defence ministers in Stockholm.
He also recalled that investigations into the case continue in Sweden, Denmark and Germany.
As long as the investigations continue, we cannot draw final conclusions. I have to wait until we have a clear understanding of what happened”, he added.
The minister of defence in Sweden has expressed the same opinion.
“While the investigative process continues, I don't want to draw any conclusions. I want to wait until the investigation is complete”, he said.
Borrell also said he proposed that EU countries spend 1 billion euros on a joint sale of ammunition to Ukraine, as well as to replenish their reserves.
