The club has not said that as long as Brazil's 38-year-old captain is out of the field, but Monday's scan showed Silva put me through a knee injury, Periscope writes.
“Silva will now work closely with the club's medical department during his rehabilitation to return to action as soon as possible”, Chelsea said.
Silva will be missing in the second 1/16 match of the Champions League against Dortmund next week, which they lose 1-0.
