The French newspaper Le Figaro several hours ago reported that a Kosovo team is being investigated for matchmaking and that already nine people were arrested, who were involved in four fake matches. Now Le Parisien at the center of this scandal has put the team from Podujevo, Llapin.
According to the French newspaper, a group of 10 people aged 22 to 50 are involved in a fixed match scandal for the Podujevo Lap team. According to them in this scandal involved are members of the leadership staff, technical and several players.
It says that under pressure from their leaders, some players on this team would have agreed to slow down the pace to receive planned negative results through bookies.
These members of the Kosovo community, headquartered in France, then seized the opportunity to bet large sums on Française des jeux page. The amount of profits thus realised during 2022 would total at least 360,000 euros. Part of that amount would have returned to Kosovo and even reinjected into the club's ark through one of its sponsors. This perfectly painted mechanism ended in a deadlock when Française des jeux decided to suspend payments after discovering suspicious bets in one of these matches. Contacted, the FDJ confirms that it has filed denouncing after confiding within this case.
Among the nine persons arrested Tuesday morning, especially in Dijon and Mulhouse, five were placed in custody by police. Finally, four men appeared this Thursday, February 23rd, in front of an investigative judge of Yars of Nancy with an indictment of acts of corruption and fraud in an organised gang. “We welcome this operation, which was carried out in co-operation with Dijon Police and Multihouse”, Stéphane Pialas Division Commissioner, head of the racing and playing department, explains, which established a specialised team for sports corruption in 2021.
