Croatian media analysis: Vucin is trying to pre-dig the West again

Aleksandar Vuciq, has been busy since Kosovo and sanctions on Russia. Gabriel Escobar, the US special emissary for the Western Balkans, clearly told him that the final goal of dialogue is mutual recognition. Vuciq returned to Instagram “just dream of” and returned to his huge recipe: postponement, procrastination, exclusion and continuing landing in more chairs.

He is currently carrying out his second presidential mandate, and according to the Constitution is also his last, although there have already been proposals to do the same as Putin, to make constitutional changes that would annul the mandates and start all over again.

These days he made the usual dramatic movement in the parliamentary debate on Kosovo and said he could impose sanctions on Russia if he did not take them himself and that he would never recognise Kosovo, so now that he has agreed to the EU proposal, there is nowhere to go. He must recreate the atmosphere of tension.

So, arguing the elections again means that there is nothing he can do before the new government is formed, that there is no mandate for such important and similar decisions. We remember that after last year's elections, it took him almost eight months to form the government, even though there was a clean situation already days after the elections.

Now he'd do it all again, and if he works for him, he'd drag it deep in 2024, and by then, he thinks, maybe Putin would do something in Ukraine that would benefit him. It must be agreed to play with Russia's card at the moment, although it is persistent and constantly throws more and more consumed here.

It's the Vucciki's favorite maneuver, the extension, because, in fact, despite being in power for more than ten years, its greatest extent is “doing nothing” and dragging on. He keeps repeating the same thing if he leaves and thinks he's good at it, and the question is just to stay in power as long as possible.

Vuciq is not a politician who builds, he functions by constantly creating an alarming and dysfunctional atmosphere and presenting himself as the only one who can get Serbia out of the situation that, if it is absurd, is constantly producing.

It practically destroyed the civil opposition or caused him to constantly testify to patriotism and his devotion to the nation and the state, and with the help of numerous ultra-racial groups that still control them and that came out of the same environment with it, he tries to intimidate the West that it is better to stick to it than to come, allegedly worse than him.

Vuciq made the whole country, including a large part of Serbs, his hostages and the policy in which he relies, is still in the positions he had prior to the Balkan wars at the beginning of the 20th century, or has held since the 19th century: territorial enlargement, sea exit, all Serbs in one state, the main Balkan state and “x1> similar to that of the Serbian “<3nd) in the footsteps of today's neo-peroxual and neo-military policies of Vladimir Putin. .

We will see how far it will go, because Washington and Brussels decided to put an end to the “ga of Kosovo” and force it to impose sanctions on Russia because it would remain “money” from the EU. He is less concerned about the fact that membership negotiations will be on ice.

However, he repeatedly stresses that only about 40 per cent of Serbs are pro-EU membership, but he is aware that he can remain without investment and without access to funds. But now it would be delayed, because it thinks the most important moment for the US is for Serbia to secede from Russia, so it wants to buy out time.

It may impose sanctions against Russia, but it has said many times it will not, and in Serbia it created a prorus environment -- namely, Putin -- that some preparations must be made and he fears. Severe reactions from Moscow.

Granted, at least on the surface level, they responded very well to this possibility, but when this opportunity was warned several times ago, Moscow sent very clear messages that it could easily return its Kosovo “geox1>.

Generally, Serbian opinion is convinced and possibly even Vucinic has believed in it, that with the help of the Russians they can reverse the situation regarding Kosovo and that their fate depends on the outcome of the war in Ukraine.

However, in the new elections, if something doesn't change in the last moment, Vuciq would be happy to get rid of Ivica Dacic and the SPS, which he eagerly welcomes into his club. However, he immediately expressed loyalty to him and said “The SPS is left with Vucinqi and his policy”. There'll be more games.

Vuciq, therefore, tries to repeat everything and hopes that he will emerge again and that the West will comply with his new fatigue of “nervave”. We'll see.
