The Special Prosecutor has filed charges against 23 police officials at the Police Station for Border Oversight, General Morine, under the Regional Directorate of Border Police.
They are suspected of misuse of official position or authority, as well as taking bribes.
“The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK) has filed an indictment at the Constitutional Court in Pristina against the Special Department, against twenty-three (23) police officials of the Kosovo Police Station for Oversighting of the Borders, Morein, under the Regional Directorate of Border Police, because of the well-founded suspicion that they have carried out the criminal work, the Marking of the bribery with Article 421 of the Penal Code and the use of office or official authority with the constitution at 414.
The Special Prosecutor reports that the accused in the quality of official persons have received bribes from citizens of the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Kosovo, with the case of crossing the border points éqafe Morinão, by which legislation has allowed the entry of persons into Kosovo's territory, without vetting them and checking them if they meet the legal conditions for entry and exit from the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, according to legislation at power”, the report says.
