Barcelona President Joan Laporta has said that he will soon start negotiations with Atletico Madrid and Manchester City to maintain Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo.
Both Portuguese footballers have been loaned to the Catalan club during the upcoming summer term, writes Index Online.
“Cancelo and Félix have played on a very high level since they arrived. The club can hold them for the next season. We plan to start negotiations for them soon. We have good relations with Manchester City and Atlético de Madrid.”, Laporta said.
But Barcelona's main problem with keeping them in the Felix and Cancelon club is about the financial crisis.
Atletico Madrid requires 80m euros for Felix, with Barcelona offering 20.25m euros.
At Cancelo the situation is easier, as City does not want the player, and Barcelona may offer about 20 million to retain the Portuguese defender.
