The Toral Surgery Clinic continues to face a lack of anesthesiologists and nurses. In addition to these shortages, this clinic is facing a shortage of the second hall, reports Online Economics.
The director of this clinic, Nazmi Kolgeci, has said of Online Economics, that the lack of anesthesiologists has made work a little difficult, as a number of them have already crossed into the private sector.
Although operating with only one operating room, Kolgeci expresses the conviction that the second hall would enable them to perform operations without the patients having to leave the country.
The number of doctors we're capable of is sufficient and is the same as other countries do. With anesthesiologist not only at Toral Surgery, the problem is the entire SHSKUK, because the number of anesthesiologists is small for all of Kosovo, and a number of anesthesiologists have gone to the private sector and that normal has made work difficult. Besides having a problem with an anesthesiologist, we have problems with the other room because a second room would create a lot better conditions and actually our patients would have no space to go abroad”, Colgeci said, broadcast Clancosova.tv.
Kolgeci has also shown why an increase in the number of nurses is necessary, since he says that caring for patients in this clinic is more important.
“The middle staff is always the problem, and anywhere in us because surgery is a department that requires additional treatment. The number of nurses is normally small. With those we're trying to cover up those shortages we've got, though it's very difficult that care is more intense because it's not like in other clinics because the thoralka also requires non-operative and post-operative treatment. So the middle staff is missing everywhere”, he said.
