COVIDD-19 Pandemia for many of us may even seem like a distant memory. But management and overcoming it has consumed a considerable time of our first year of government.
In March 2021, Kosovo had not even a vaccine and no contract for vaccines. By the end of the year, we provided 2.2 million vaccines, and over 60% of the adult population was isolated. Kosovo, from the last country in the region, became the first country in the Western Balkans in the rate of population vaccine. Massive vaccine was the largest health company ever and certainly the key to recovery to economic, social, cultural revival.
Since then, we have allocated over 100m euros more for the health sector, 60 million for the new list of essential drugs, and 6.5m euros more for drugs with rare diseases. Because health, primarily, needs investments that provide services.
In Oncology Clinic, there is no longer a waiting list for radiation therapy. We have equipped it with a new axier of 1.4m euros, which we have added more than half a million euros to increase hospital capacities. At the Neurokirurgy Clinic, it was invested in equipment worth 1.7m euros. For the Gynecology Clinic, 1.5 million are dedicated.
We worked on the Magnetic Rezonance (MRI) at the Peja Hospital and the Paddy Clinic, while the one at Prizren Hospital will be realised soon. We also put the National Center for Sports Medicine and Physical Medicine Clinic with Medical Rehabilitation in place.
Adding the number of pharmaceutical and health inspectors has doubled our inspection capacity.
Under primary health care, over 65 thousand home visits were registered for pregnant women and children up to three years of age. Finally, we have donated 29 new cars with the aim of making more frequent and easier medical visits to the municipalities. 34 municipalities have been provided with equipment for acute emergency service, as construction of the Main Family Medicine Centre in Mamusha and Ferizaj has already been in procedure in the Drinas, Development and Istog.
With the Medical Product Award Law, for the first time we are creating a drug price regulatory system to make them more affordable to our citizens and protect them from price abuses. And with the Administrative Guide for Medical Treatment outside public institutions, among other things, reference prices are being made for the first time, while persons with war disability status, close members of the martyrs' family and civil victims of war will be compensated at a maximum sum -- 100% of the bill's value.
Health is our priority next year's budget. For 2024 we have allocated 340m euros, including the grant to municipalities, while the SSKUK will have 25% more budgets.
