Israel is approaching the destruction of Hamas' <x0 military system” in northern Gaza, an Israeli Defence Forces official said.
” We are very close to destroying the military system that had (Hamas) on the northern Gaza Strip of”, IDF Chief General Staff Chief Herri Halev said on Thursday as he visited troops fighting in the belt.
His statement comes after Israeli leaders early in the week said the northern part of Gaza, including the city of Gaza, was under Israeli control, CNN reports
On Wednesday, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said Israel's ground operations “will last for many months and include both north and south (the Gaza Belt)”, pledging to “bless Hamas wherever it is”.
