Kosovo Deputy Speaker Enver Hoxhaj invited to HINA RTK Primeı, has reported on the European Commission's report on Kosovo. Hoxhaj has said this is the first report in Kosovo's history in a country that is under sanctions.

It is the only country in the Balkans that has sanctions. To understand this, the citizens of Kosovo, on the European continent except Russia and Iran, is the only country that is under sanctions. So even the progress report, beyond what it technically says, beyond what has been achieved or not been achieved, how much progress as defined and what it says about dialogue and other areas is the first progress report coming to Kosovo, and the European Union keeps this country under sanctions”, Hoxhaj noted.

Hoxhaj, who comes from the PDK, has said sanctions are damaging the country.

“Pod use the term Prime Minister Kurti is using. Because he is saying sanctions are efficient and the country is costing him a lot, the difference between measures and sanctions is not too big in the way they are set up. Beyond that sanctions are in effect even after Banjska and after an act of aggression in the Republic of Kosovo, and there is no light on the bottom of the horizon. I'm not saying this to be unilateral, but the meetings I have with different European colleagues and the communication I have with Brussels, they're talking about what sanctions will remain in place for even a while, and when it was Von der Leyen in Kosovo, he clearly said that even the Association or the establishment of it are related to whether the sanctions go away or not. And the most basic question is how we got here and what kind of political swamp we got into. But this is the first-time progress report of a political swamp that is covered with the facade of sanctions”, he said. / RTK
