The union's announcement reportedly has pledged the chairman of the KEK Steering Board and management to meet union requirements and has promised that dialogue with trade unions will continue to address workers' issues fairly.
“With this opinion and entrusting KEK's pledge to take concrete action, we have decided to postpone our planned protest on November 7, 2023. Our goal is to pave the way for dialogue and resolution of our requests in a quiet and just manner”, it says.
If they fail to meet their demands, the union has warned they are prepared for union action.
However, it is important to bear in mind that these are promises, and we will be prepared for union action if our righteous and legal requirements are not fully realised. We will continue to be active and take appropriate steps to protect our rights. ”
