In 2022, Deday had sent letters to Specials saying that he distanced himself from previous statements about Thaci

In November 2022, Gjergj Deday had sent a letter to the Kosovo Specialised Prosecutor's Office by which he announced that he had distanced himself from all earlier statements.

This was confirmed by Dedaj himself, as well as introduced during the hearing by Hashim Thaci's defence attorney, Luka Misetic, reports “Justice Vow”.

Deday had said in this letter that these statements were more of a political campaign.

I have issued a 2011 statement on the coalition. I have incorrectly said that Hashim Thaci has tortured me, it is not true because Hashim Thaci has not tortured me, and he is not correct, because he has not tortured me... Deday said the reason why it's the distance from these statements has been because they've been told about revenge.
