In Kosovo, information campaigns have been launched regarding visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens, who from January 1st, 2024 no longer need to wait before embassies to provide visas for visits to EU countries, or countries in the Schengen area.
The report on the social Facebook network shows that although visa liberalisation comes into force from January 2024, liberalisation does not enable citizens to work, attend schooling or stay longer than 90 days within a 180-day period.
The visa liberalisation “is a very important step for Kosovo citizens! This means that you now have the opportunity of visa - free travel for short - term stays, including tours and trips to visit family members several times within the year. Be careful, however, not to exceed 90 days within a 180-day period of”, the announcement says.
To travel without visas, important documents such as biometric passports are required, testimony to the purpose of travel, the reservation, travel details, vehicle documents if you travel with it, and evidence of sufficient financial means.
Careful, however, visa liberalisation cannot enable you to work, attend schooling, or conduct studies in the Schengen area.
The violations of the rules or abuse of this right can bring serious consequences, including financial fines, notes in your passport, and bans on entry into the Schengen area up to 5 years.
