After the situation in the north, sir. Police Director gives details about the current situation there

The deputy director of police in the north, Veton Elshani, in T7, has detailed the current situation in the north following the terrorist attack on Branjsk.

He said the situation is heading towards normalisation.

We consider that the situation is moving towards normalisation, because we have replaced special units with rapid intervention units, we have had raids, and today we consider from tomorrow onward that we will have control of the ground”, he said.

Elshani considers that most of the terrain “has been cleared”.

He also talked about the opening of the border point at Jarinje, as it has opened today in Brnjak.

The information we accept, based on the investigation, depends on the situation and is likely to release Jarinje”, he said.

Elshani said it is now the lowest level of risk.

There are lower levels of risk, police still have, today we've combed the ground near the monastery, because we've been looking since Monday. There probably won't be a field comb from tomorrow unless we have information that we should look for”, Elshani said.

He said they have good communication with all citizens in general.

“Situate is good, we have very good communication with citizens in general, here is a huge pressure of Serbia, because there are structures that answer to the Serbian state”, he said.
