For Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Israeli-Haams war is like any other crisis in the world an opportunity to advance Russia's intentions to the war in Ukraine, says the former oil manate and Russian opposition activist Mikhail Khodorkovsky.
He doesn't support anyone”, Khodorkovsky says, referring to the Kremlin.
He wants chaos. Putin, today, needs chaos to ensure what he wants from increasingly turbulent waters. And what you want is not to lose Ukraine”, says Khodorkovsky in an interview for Radio Current Times Free Europe channel.
According to him, Putin “creates chaos wherever he can, to distract people, distract resources, distract politicians and be able to carry out his dirty work [in Ukraine]”.
Putin, he says, “has no personal interest in Hamas”. But, “has a personal interest, practical to destabilise the” situation, according to Khodorkovsky.
“does not matter whether it is Hamas or Hezbollah, whether it is the situation in Israel or any mess in the Balkans. It doesn't matter. What matters is that the attention of the world's leading players has been diverted”, he says.
