Citizens who have traveled from Kosovo to Serbia today and vice versa via the Jarinje border crossing have expressed happiness at the opening of this border point. Police, however, assess that the security situation in the north is calm, but delicate.

Some of them for Kosova Press have said they do not want such events as the September 24th attack on Banjska ever again.

Anjelko Llesevich of Leshak said he is very happy for the opening of Jarinje, since 25 days he lived as it was, like prison”.

He wants such situations and closures of borders never happen for anyone, regardless of nationality, but for citizens to live well and move freely.

Samir Demirovic of Tutini also expressed happiness in opening the border, saying that during crossing the border everything has gone quickly and efficiently.

He has appealed to politicians to think more of the people's interests because citizens really want to live in peace and without conflict.

On the other hand, W. D of the director of the Kosovo Police for the north region, Veton Elshani, has indicated that the security situation in the north is calm, but delicate.

According to him, after the opening of the Jarinje border, everything is going okay and there's no problem.

He said police members are still developing their activities in maintaining order and public calm, without specifying whether certain locations are being raided in the north.

Meanwhile, the border checkpoint in Brnjak was opened on 9 October.

The closure of the border crossings with Serbia in Jarinje and Brnjak was made by 24 September, following terrorist attacks on Zvecan Banisk.
