Prime Minister Albin Kurti has not detailed what he will discuss with the five emissaries who will stay in Kosovo on Saturday, Online Economy reports. He said Kosovo's security is a priority and that without certainty there is no normalisation.
Kurti added that the sooner Brussels' basic agreement is implemented will not only normalisation, but also security for Kosovo and the region.
“What they're looking for and learning tomorrow. I can say we can't have normalisation without certainty. Kosovo's security should be a priority both for state institutions and for people and society. That's why we work day and night with everything we know. In December last year, we had 16 barricades in the north for three weeks. On May 26th-29th of this year we had an attack on police, KFOR soldiers and on you journalists in the north. On June 14th, we had the kidnapping of our three policemen in Leposaviq”.
The end of September 24th, we had a terrorist attack from which police sergeant Africa Bulnjak was killed. It is vital for Kosovo for democracy, but I would also say for the Balkan region in general that those who have not known or understood who Serbia is and Belgrade's official finally do so because it is not Kosovo that should have this punitive measure, but it is Serbia to which sanctions should be imposed. As far as dialogue is concerned in Brussels we have agreements from there, but again because of Serbia, it has not been implemented. We have been constructively creative for once and there is no guilt or responsibility on our side why Kosovo and Serbia do not have normal relations. Brussels' basic agreement on February 27th is central to mutual recognition, and the sooner it is implemented it will have not only democratic and European normalisation but also security for our country and for the region”, Kurti said.
