Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has said the Israeli Army's battle at the Gaza Strip can last “dy to three months “, pledging that “after it is completed, there will be no more Hamas”.
As far as operational modeping lines are concerned, nothing will stop the IDF [Israel Protection Forces]. It's a mixture of two things: our air capabilities and ground maneuvering”, Gallant said on Sunday at Tel Aviv.
A ground invasion of the Gaza Strip by the Israeli Army may be imminent following the furious attack of Hamas militants in the southern cities of Israel two weeks ago.
Israel's army surrounded Gaza and launched the deadly revenge bombings in Gaza shortly after the October 7th attack, as well as a mass of tanks and tens of thousands of troops near the border with the dense population of 2.3 million people.
“This should be our last maneuver operation in Gaza, for a simple reason, because after that, Hamas will no longer be there”, Gallant stressed.
Hamas militants broke the border barriers and moved from Gaza to southern Israel on October 7th, killing over 1,400 people, mainly civilians, and kidnapping over 200 others.
As a result, the ongoing Israeli bombings since then in Gaza have killed 4,741 Palestinians, while 15,898 have been injured, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, which is led by Hamas.
