Kosovo's government has remained three days away from the legal deadline for adopting the 2024 budget, while the opposition demands development budget and more military budgets, police, capital investments, salary growth and job creation.

The Ministry of Finance, Labour and Transfers says drafting the annual budget for 2017 reflects the governing programme and is co-ordinated with the assessments of the International Monetary Fund.

MP from the PDK ranks Ferat Shala expresses sceptical that a development budget could be drafted by the Kosovo Government for 2017.

MP Shala wants next year's budget to be planned, until she adds that the 2023 one has been with flawed commitments.

Parliamentary Commission member for Buzhet, Shala tells Kosovo Press that the Government should think more about capital investments.

While MP from the LDK ranks and at the same time head of the parliamentary Commission for Public Finance Supervision, Hykmete Bajrami has expressed concern over changing the budgetary structure over the years.

According to her, the government should think that a large portion of the budget will share in capital investments.

That the government is not being transparent for budget drafting, says the MP from the AAK ranks, Paul Lekaj. However, this party has provided some proposals on what should be included in next year's budget.

Meanwhile, the Finance Ministry in a written response to Kosova Prees has said that drafting the annual budget for 2024 reflects the governing programme and is co-ordinated with the assessments of the International Monetary Fund.

The Kosovo government had adopted the 2023 budget bill, worth 3 billion and 212m euros.
