Leaders of the 27 European Union nations from their summit in Brussels on Thursday and Friday will express deep concern for the security situation in northern Kosovo. They will extend an invitation for leaders of the attacks in Banjska to respond to justice, but also for Kosovo and Serbia, without delay and unconditionally, to meet their obligations from the dialogue process.
These calls are expected to be in the conclusions that will approve leaders in this summit, while its draft has provided Radio Free Europe.
The European Council is deeply concerned about the security situation in northern Kosovo. Powerfully condemns violent attacks on Kosovo police [that occurred] on September 24th, 2023. The European Union expects the leaders to be caught and put to justice quickly and for Serbia to co-operate fully and take all necessary steps”, the text of the draft conclusions is said.

Three attackers were killed during the clashes that followed between the armed group and police.
The responsibility for organisation and leadership of the attack has been taken Milan Radociq, former vice president of the Serbian List, the main party of Serbs in Kosovo who enjoys the support of official Belgrade.
At the other two points in the conclusions, it's about steps to reduce tensions, as well as implementing obligations that arise from dialogue.
“Kosovo and Serbia must make sustained efforts for expansion, in particular holding elections in northern Kosovo as soon as possible, with the active participation of Kosovo Serbs. Failure to stress [the situation] will have consequences“, says this text.
The European Council laments the lack of implementation of both sides of the Agreement on the road to normalisation and the annex of its implementation, as well as other agreements reached in the EU-extensive dialogue, under the leadership of the high representative and with the help of special envoy”, the text is said to be further.
