Presevo Valley Chairman Shqirim Arifi has sent a letter to Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, through which he has asked the head of the government not to interrupt dialogue with Serbia.
The Valley's “Albanians have been convicted, vulnerable and discriminated against for 30 years and in the last 10 years even unvisited by their” addresses, it says on paper.
In this letter, Arifi has said that if dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia is interrupted then Albanians from the Presevo Valley are in the grip of a terrorist situation or group.
“is vital for us to activate all channels of diplomatic communication, to ensure security for Albanians in the Valley. Otherwise, Presevo Valley with the north could become “pout powder””, says the letter.
Arifi has expressed the same concern days ago, stressed that citizens and he himself are under stress and concern because of this event and the overall state of uncertainty in the region.
And we can also develop a situation like this, where we don't even have our own police, where we don't even have the powers in security, where everyone comes in and out as he wants in the Presevo Valley. There could also be a space for the transition of the situation, because from what happened in northern Kosovo, it shows that someone is extremely interested in disposing the situation in the region”, he has declared at RTV Dukagujni.
He has called for assistance and support from the international community to prevent the outcome of the situation in the region.
