Volunteer resignations from Kosovo Police (PK) are seen as disturbing phenomena and are required that immediate steps be taken to prevent this phenomenon. Only early this year are 60 resignations from this institution, the head of the Kosovo Police Union, Imer Zeqiri, has confirmed.
He has added that these resignations can be stopped only when power takes steps to improve the well-being of the KP and meet their current demands.
Zeqiri said the KP, in addition to demanding additional risk, has also demanded that the early retirement law be drafted in which retirement is provided, as according to him, post-retirement officers receive only 100 euros that are not even available for medicine.
Kosovo's “Police would need to meet some conditions much earlier not only because the last case occurred, but in reality the KK has shown results and success in progress since its establishment. But when we're well-being, it's about regret that a lot is missing, not just additions to the risk that this is now no longer being executed since the implementation of the salary law. We've had other demands far more priority a security institution in the country without health and vital insurance. It is meaningless why it has not been worked and worked so far for health and vital insurance. We have concrete requests to the government, we have concrete plans for how it can be done, we just need tools. This is not happening”, he said.
We also have the law on retirement at age 55 is often being mentioned that it is not an early law is a law at age 55. This law at this age in most countries of the world retires at this age. The cop for the job he does, has also seen several experts who by the age of 55 can be fresh enough to stand up to all those legal authorizations and duties that a police officer does. In this law, it is not only that, but the police official after completing his career of reaching the age of 65 when he retires, receives a pension of 100 euros that is not even social aid that may not suffice most of them even for medicine. It is very derogatory at the end of the career after all these challenges of 100 euros”, he said.
And because of all these demands and their failure to realise, the chairman of this Union has said voluntary resignations of police officers are not stopping, according to him, from the beginning of this year until now 60 resignations have been made.
He has stressed that preventing these resignations could be stopped only by improving the well-being of the KP and implementing their demands.
There's been a constant resignation every year, since the establishment of the police, we've had over 22,000 voluntary resignations, but I exacerbated it a little bit, increased the KP's dissatisfaction when it was removed, given a lot of other conditions, and we've come to the point that we have resigned somewhere until now about 60 resignations for this year alone, and we have warnings for resignation. Maybe we have a resignation ready every day that's too much and the only preventing voluntary resignations is improving the well-being of the KP. The resignations have become disturbing, police officials are witnessed with experience and professionalism. That's why we're hurting, not only the police, but the state itself is being damaged, he said.
The Zeqiri has also spoken about reports of a lack of KP clothing, where, according to him, there is a shortage and that the KP is no longer well dressed.
He has said this is happening because of the long-time failure of the Prosecutorial Organising Organisation Board and because of tenders.
“In reality, the cause of the impasses of several tenders which have, at some point, carried out all the tender procedures but a long time, nearly a year has not worked out, and until the police we've had 24 projects and they're stuck because the OSP board doesn't function, then, when some have turned to zero point some have started to improve. There's shortages, we're still not well in clothing, in law enforcement uniforms, let's not get five special units that are complete with all the necessary equipment. But the rest that are most police officials lack clothing, and all of it is because of these returning tenders are being rejected, so there are quantitative offers and many other problems that do not know the details” he said. / EO
