On October 10th 1999, the Democratic Party of Kosovo was formed (PDK). This party since its establishment has had President Hashim Thaci.
Since the Constitution does not allow simultaneously holding the post of president and party chairman, Thaci resigned from his party functions.
After that, The PDK has held the election seat where Kadri Veselini has elected as chairman.
Executive organ The PDK is Headship, which is elected by the Steering Council.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo has started its ruling history since 2001-2004, when that world was elected Prime Minister Bajram Rexhepi along with 2 ministers from the party's workshop.
After the November 17, 2007 elections, The PDK is confirmed as the country's first political force.
The PDK in elections held in 2019 was ranked third, in which the country fell for the first time in its history
