Zidane, through his agent Alain Migliaccio, was asked if he would be interested in following Gregg Berhaler to the US bench, which the Frenchman politely refused.
The 1998 World Cup winner, who turned 50 last June, has been without a club since the end of his second period at Real Madrid's helm in the summer of 2021.
Berhalter's contract as coach of USNT expired on December 31st, with the federation announcing this week that aider Anthony Hudson would assume responsibility for the friendly against Serbia on January 25th in Los Angeles and against Colombia three days later in Carson, California.
