Fans were disappointed with Poland's appearances in Qatar, where the team scored only three goals.
For Meczyki, the FA Polish has already contacted Gerard about the coach's post.
Other names included in the narrow list include Roberto Martinez, who became Portugal's coach Monday after being dismissed from Belgium.
Herve Renard, the manager of Saudi Arabia, who organised a stunning 2-1 victory over Argentina, the World Cup's eventual winner, was also considered.
If Gerard takes office, he'll be reunited with the star of Ain Willa, Matty Cash. The wing defender made his debut for Poland in 2021 after applying for a Polish passport.
Jerard began his career as manager of Premiership Rangers' Scottish giants in 2018 after a brief period of U18 and U19 of Liverpool.
The former Reds captain won the club's first title for 10 years in 2021, managing to spend an entire year without losses.
He moved to Ason Villa but did not go as he expected, and he is now considered for the post of Poland.
