The 29-year-old Argentinian striker ended the seven-year connection with Juvenus in summer and joined Gialoros as a free transfer, signing three-year contract with the club. Despite the initial injury problem on the thigh, Rome's Dubala start has gone well and he scored 13 goals in 16 matches this season.
As Calciomercato.com reports, Rome is looking to activate a clause in the existing Dubala contract, which would increase its payment and remove its release clause.
The Argentinian striker currently earns 4.2 million net in the season, and the increase would be up to 6 million, enough to remove his current clause. The current Dubala contract allows him to leave Rome for 12m euros for a club outside Italy or 20m for an Italian club.
All sides must agree, and this will take some time, the report stresses. The Dybala is happy with Rome and wants to be on Friedkins' next plans for the club, as is coach Jose Mourinho. The sides are expected to meet in March to discuss the Rome project and what plans they have for the future.
