The KPK's reaction says the minister is speaking falsely and that the evidence for this is the figures of shares undertaken by the Prosecutor.
The “Declaration of Minister Hadziu is not true because the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council has appointed four prosecutors to the Special Prosecutor's Crime Department of the Republic of Kosovo. To support this department, six other professional collaborators and two legal officials have also been appointed.
The lie stated by Minister Haxhiu is easily testified, with former chief prosecutor Alexander Lumezi's mandate taken, concrete actions have been issued -- 72 international warrants for the arrest of war crimes suspects, concrete investigative actions have been taken towards the discovery of the chief criminal acts and anti-laws -- dozens of indictments have been issued -- the basis of data on the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo for war crimes cases, and this database has been harmonised with that of the Kosovo Police. At the initiative of former Chief Prosecutor Lumez has prepared and adopted Strategy for handling war crimes cases. These and many other actions have been undertaken, are being undertaken on a daily basis for war crimes investigations in Kosovo.
Kosovo's Prosecutorial Council high-profiles former State Chief Alexander Lumezi's commitment and professional readiness to confront the most serious cases in the Republic of Kosovo, which by 2015 were at EULEX's disposal. Therefore, any tendency not to recognise institutional achievements means marginalisation of state achievements” is said in the KPK's response to the justice minister.
