Kosovo citizens have purchased real estate of 40m euros in Albania, Montenegro and Northern Macedonia

About 40m euros is the total value of real estate that Kosovo citizens have purchased during the period of July, August, September 2022 in the countries of the region as: Albania, Montenegro and Northern Macedonia.

This data was published by the Kosovo Central Bank (BQK), where it states that direct investments of Kosovo residents in other countries during 2022 were higher than in the same period in 2021.

During the third three months of 2021 (July, August, September), the overall value of direct investments of Kosovo residents in other countries was 37m euros, or 2.4m euros lower than in the same period in 2022.

“Direct investments of Kosovo residents outside Kosovo's economy are mainly capital investments, which in most cases are purchase of real estate, mainly in the countries of the region (Albania, Montenegro and Northern Macedonia)”, become known among other things in the BQK report.

Otherwise, it is estimated that annual investments of Kosovars in real estate mainly on the Albanian coast and Montenegro exceed 100m euros.

Years ago it was reported that more than 33m euros have invested Kosovo citizens in Albania within a three-year period.

According to data from the Kosovo Central Bank (BQK) these investments are being made mainly in the real estate sector.

The highest investments by Kosovo citizens in Albania occurred in 2008, when they reached the total value of 19.2m euros.

The foreign direct investments of Kosovo residents in other countries amounted to 10.6m euros, investments mainly for purchase of real estate in Albania. In 2010, these investments were reduced to 3.4m euros”.“Revista Monitor”
