In an interview for “European Western Balkans”, its officials have suggested that KFOR continues to provide the necessary security framework for the EU facilitated dialogue for normalising relations between Belgrade and Pristina to move ahead of”.

“With more than 3,700 troops contributed by 27 countries, including NATO allies and partners, KFOR remains fully focused on the daily implementation of its mandate HINA based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 in 1999 to ensure a safe environment and freedom of movement for all communities in Kosovo”, reportedly by KFOR officials, the Klan broadcast

“The removal of the barricades followed the intensive efforts of NATO allies and the European Union to ease tensions, with key support from KFOR and the EU-led mission for Law Rule (EULEX). The demonstration of final roadblocks was carried out quickly, safely, to avoid incidents and other risks to local security.

What is now important is that all sides refrain from provocative actions and seek further solutions through dialogue. This is the key to sustainable security in Kosovo and for stability throughout the region. KFOR continues to provide the security framework needed for the EU-launched dialogue on normalising relations between Belgrade and Pristina to move ahead of”.

“KFOR has played a key role in easing recent tensions, remains extremely vigilant and has the skills and personnel to continue carrying out its mandate, while KFOR Commander Major General Ristuccia remained in close contact with all relevant parties” was stressed by the KFOR Office in Pristina. Moreover, NATO supports Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue “as the main platform to find a solution that respects the rights of all communities and to build lasting peace and security throughout the region”.

KFOR adds that it has all the resources needed to fulfill its mission.
