Portuguese Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has completed a free transfer to the Saudi Arabia team, Al-Nasr.
He was introduced as an Al-Nasr player after leaving Manchester United with mutual consent.
The 37-year-old has said he joined the Saudi club because he is excited to prove himself in a new football league in another country and believes the club's vision is very inspiring.
“The world's largest athlete signed for Al Nassr,” was the way the club announced the transfer, and the Arab team will certainly pay Ronaldos the largest salary in football history.
The 37-year-old has signed an agreement with Al-Nasr by 2025 and will receive the largest salary in football history, worth a total of 190m euros a year, according to AFP.
Ronaldo's basic salary will, in fact, reach 80m euros with the rest of the salary comprised of image rights and commercial agreements. It will also play an important role in Saudi Arabia's 2030 World Cup bid.
AFP has reported that Ronaldo's ambassador's contribution to the World Cup bid will bring him an additional 190m euros on his regular salary.
The Arab club will finance the deal using a series of partners, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs. The club will contribute only to funding the wage minority and will likely pay less than half of the total package.
Mohammed Al-Khereiji, who tried to buy Chelsea, with his Saudi Media Group was key to the deal, while there is government support.
The deal also allows Ronaldo to have great control on the side of football, the commercial one and the ambassador, which also extends to the new signing that has certain contributions when it comes to transfers.
