“Association, Achilles' membrane for Kosovo”, Milo: Historical Agreement Hard to Reach With Serbia

Former Foreign Minister Pascal Milo commented on today's meeting of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti with senior EU and US officials for neutralisation of relations with Serbia. According to him, this meeting is designed to find “some compromises within the extreme positions of both sides”. “Kurti again has not agreed with [...]
“Kurti again disagreed with the plan in terms of association. For Pristina, it is the “Achilles' Theemen” because it questions what the Kosovo Albanians must preserve as the issue of respect for sovereignty. If there is an association that will have executive power, it creates the possibility of a state within the state, which would undermine Kosovo's sovereignty.”, he said.
As he added, it is about a proposal that has to do with association so that Serb municipalities do not have executive power.
“Kurti opposes an ethnic mono connection. He proposes to create but to participate not only in minority Serbs but in others not only in the hands of Serbs because it would be an instrument in Belgrade's service. On the part of Americans, guarantees have been provided that the establishment of association does not violate Kosovo's sovereignty.
He added that if Serbia would accept the Franco-German plan, in those terms that have been presented and without changes, it would thus accept and recognise Kosovo.
In the general plan, I see it more difficult for Vucic because if he accepts such an agreement, or the Franco-German plan that has twice rejected, in those terms that have been presented, he has to defily accept what de juro has opposed. So by accepting this package, he will recognise Kosovo's sovereignty, Kosovo's territorial integrity. ”
Will there be an agreement within Mars?
I don't believe it because as many promises that have been made all these years, no one has been realized and the separation between them is deep that it's hard to reach a historic agreement for two months. The sides are still far away and do not know what instruments can be used and made concessions between the parties.”, Milo said. /abcnews. al
