A passenger car crashed into the presidential vehicle and its escort to Kyiv, Sergii Nykyforov said in a brief statement.
“The president was checked by a doctor, no serious injuries recorded”, he said.
The car manager who crashed into the convoy received medical treatment at the scene and was evacuated by ambulance.
Nykyforov said all circumstances of traffic accident are being investigated by law enforcement officers. He didn't give any more details.
The accident came after President Zelensky, 44, visited the recovered city of Izyum, a main logistical centre in northeastern Ukraine on Wednesday.
He thanked troops who participated in a quick counterattack against the Russian invaders and supervised a flag - raising ceremony.
In recent days, Ukraine's military has recovered parts of occupied territory, forcing Russian troops to withdraw.
