From turtles to humpback whales and wolves, many species are making spectacular recoverys, the study reveals.
What species are recovering in Europe?
The report by “Wild Animal Restitution 2022” does not cover the biodiversity crisis. Many European wild animals remain threatened. Almost one in eight birds and about one in five mammals are still at risk of extinction on the continent.
In the meantime, wolves are one of the most escape people experiencing a reanimate, writes Euronews.
The Grey Wolf They wander across the continent. But they almost disappeared in the 20th century, after people violated their habitats and hunted them down. Since the 1970s, the population number has increased by 1,800 per cent to 17,000.
The Wall Bear It is another carnivorous who returns from such efforts. Since 1960 the population has grown by 44 percent.
Meanwhile, the population bison Europeans have grown by 399 percent since 1971. The Great Barnivorous One of the world's few surviving animals is an important species that helps preserve partially forested landscapes by eating large quantities of bushes.
Most of these triumphant recoverys are due to hunting bans, committed efforts to reproduction, and restoration of habitats.
