More than 120 people -- mainly Lebanese and Syrian -- are believed to have been aboard the small boat that was overthrown on its way to Europe, Euronews writes.
Lebanese Transport Minister Ali Hamie said on Friday that 19 people were saved near the Syrian port city of Tartus.
Thursday's tragedy is likely the highest death toll for a transition of immigrants from Lebanon.
“I am discussing with Syrian Transport Minister a mechanism to recover troops in Syria,” said Hamie about AFP, adding that rescue efforts were still under way.
In April, dozens of people were killed when a crowded ship of immigrants sank on the coast of Tripoli, causing widespread anger.
Lebanon has seen an increase in migration amid a deepening economic crisis.
