The Taoyan Veterans' House, a state centre in Taiwan for retired military personnel, paid the dancer to cheer 12 seniors in the carriage.
In a video, a woman dressed in red clothes and heels is seen enjoying music.
However, the centre faced strong criticism after the publication of the images and was forced to apologize for staying at the nursing home.
The staff said that “are deeply repentant” that the incident took place just three days before the annual harvest festival festival.
They said they wanted to enjoy them as the last two festivals were cancelled because of the pandemic.
The purpose of this organization was to please the residents and make them happy. We are very sorry for all the reactions that prompted”, the centre's spokesman said.
The Summer Festival is one of the most important holidays in Asian culture. In China this is celebrated by joining together and by praying for happiness. /Periscopi/
