For crimes of genocide proportions that Serbia caused during the recent war in Kosovo, the State Agency of the Archives of Kosovo( ASHAK) does not own any archive material. That's what they said from this institution.
Meanwhile, no record of war crimes is a crime, assessing criminal law connoisseurs and researchers. They say digitalisation of the evidence is necessary and the creation of a special museum for the unfolding of Serbian crimes in Kosovo.
Kosovo's current leaders and their predecessors have mentioned many times in recent years, the establishment of a genocide suit against Serbia, the massacres and the Maccabre killings that caused during the war.
Despite this, however, there is no evidence at the State Agency of Archives for horrific crimes, which has revealed by this institution.
Kosovo's State Archives Agency does not own archive materials, which testify to the war crimes caused by Serbia in Kosovo”, says Hope McAj, director of the ASHAK Development Policy Department. The McAffliction, it's related to legal regulations.
“After the Law for Archives, the archive material is delivered to the archive thirty years from the moment of creation”, she has said further, in a written response, asked by Radio Kosovo if the Archive of Kosovo, has digitally published material that documents war crimes caused by Serbia in Kosovo.
The 30-year term is specified in Article 13 of the Law for State Archives.
No record of war crimes is a double crime for victims, claims criminal law professor Ismet Salihu. Former leader of the Institute for War Crimes, says that in addition to the re-founding of the institute that was closed in 2018, Kosovo must digitise evidence for war crimes, and even create a particular museum for this.
<x0rahas Institute for Investigation of War Crimes, also needs to be established in the War Crimes Museum, where they would be exposed: facts, evidence and tools “coropra delic”, which testify how these crimes were committed against the innocent Albanian population, and other damage to the”, he said.
As he criticises institutions for failing to record war crimes, researcher Abit Hoxha says the evidence for Serbian crimes should be digitised, along with it confessions of war survivors.
“We are not working on digitizing the facts we have available. For example, some of the witnesses from the Izbica massacre and the ray are dead, and we haven't interviewed them for a oral story, showing them that side of their experiences, that tomorrow we have a virtual museum. We don't have a record of witnesses who escaped such massacres. We don't have any record of photographs. Actually, this is pathetic, so it's tragic”, Hoxha said.
Radio Kosovo has asked the Ministry of Culture if it plans to create a digital archive for the record of Serbian crimes in Kosovo? However, despite a few daily insistence, an answer from this ministry has been missing until the preparation of this material.
